The officers were definitely wrong, they allowed this clown to provoke them, now it may cost them their jobs.

BUT, if the idiot had complied the first time, this would never have happened. He purposely defied the officers orders because he’s a moron trying to provoke them. Well, he succeeded and it’s difficult to feel sorry for him.

I learned (before Christ, salvation) to always comply with the police. If you smart off to them and are defiant, they will always make it much harder for you. I learned this the hard way in my teenage years. Treat them with respect and comply in a friendly tone, and they will treat you decently. I even got a verbal warning for speeding because I was nice and respectful to the officer. I agree with you VW. This guy could have avoided all this harsh contact with these cops if he didn't mouth off and just cooperated. Totally senseless behavior on part of the defendant. I don't believe he was a victim, because victims really don't have a choice of what happens to them. This guy chose to respond in a negative way to law enforcement and paid the consequences for his unreasonable behavior. The cop who tased the jaywalker resigned from the department later on after this incident.

Sounds like "lawsuit by cop". Take a beat down, get a cash award. I'm sure some do that.

You've got police state employees, those who treat citizens like enemy combatants and then you have real police. A real policeman/woman would have handled that much differently. The police state employee does not know how to conduct himself.

So how would a 'real policeman' handle a resistant uncooperative combatant suspect who flees?
