    Hobby Lobby cotton decor racist?

-Hobby Lobby -- the national arts and crafts chain -- is embroiled in a raging controversy over whether cotton is racist.

As absurd as it may sound -- a Texas customer wrote a Facebook post blasting Hobby Lobby for selling raw cotton plants.

"So wrong on so many levels," Daniell Rider declared as she described a vase filled with cotton bolls. "There is nothing decorative about raw cotton."

"A commodity which was gained at the expense of American-American slaves," she thundered. "A little sensitivity goes a long way. Please remove this decor."

More than 200,000 people weighed in -- and many agreed with her argument -- that cotton was a commodity gained at the expense of African American slaves...

I'm sure that they all have no problem actually wearing cotton though - in public places no less!

American slavers breathed the air that is still around in the US. It needs to be removed and decontaminated before people can breathe it again.

    Sounds like a prank.

Amazing how many people "weigh in" on the false drama.

I was going to do that to Publix supermarket, call them out for selling White Mountain bread just to see what would happen.

    Thought better of it...

This has to be a fake drama. There is a group of paid agitators that just sit around coming up with stuff like this, they have thousands of fake twitter accounts, etc.

    YEP!

I plan on buying one of those cotton decorations this weekend if they're not sold out! If they are, I'll find something else to purchase.

There might be an organized effort, but I also think that people stir up controversy for the facebook "likes" and twitter "retweets."

Absolutely, people dream of "going viral" and will do outrageous things to do so. The need to "go viral" was the reason that the White House shut down televised news conferences, the "reporters" were going over the top to get their viral status.
