Reminds me of the situation with Israel where many people are so pro-Palestinian that they become blind to the fact that they are supporting outright terror organizations. I'm not fanatically pro-Israel but it seems clear to me that "the middle ground" with the Israel vs Palestine question has become so skewed that being fanatically pro-Palestinian is seen as normal by many people and being even slightly pro-Israel is seen as fanaticism. I hope the middle ground doesn't get skewed the same way with American politics and even with left vs right in general, creating strong anti sentiments against every form of right wing or conservative politics (not just centrist to moderate left politics that are then termed "right wing" or "conservative"). Trump has sort of become the negative poster boy for pro-leftist anti-right-wing political activists.

Although freedom of speech protects even the most vile of humans, Harris is still confused as to why the town let the rally happen.

“I think for them to be allowed to come here and protest is really crazy. How do you expect the KKK to come to your city to protest, and them not be violent? I understand everyone is entitled to their freedom of speech, but the government and the mayor made a bad business move. It’s only caused havoc in your own city. It’s crazier that people have the hatred in their heart to want to kill black people,” Harris stated.

Harris’ friends and family created a GoFundMe to help with his medical expenses, but there is no amount of money that could take away the trauma the 20-year-old experienced Saturday afternoon.

James Baldwin once said, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” The violence that erupted in Charlottesville over the last 48 hours has been the face of America since the beginning of time.

The CHURCH needs to rise up against this evil..

Ignore this post if you want, but I will continue to cry aloud and spare not.

Everyone has the right to speak freely, including objectionable groups, but in my opinion our political and religious leaders (of all stripes) should strongly condemn this alt-right, white-nationalist movement. If there had been strong condemnation of this movement from the beginning, I doubt the counter-protesters would have shown up, as they would have known that the nation as a whole objects to the movement and therefore would not fear it.

President Trump can't condemn the movement, because it's part of his political base (a small part, and most Trump supporters are NOT racists), but other Republicans can and should, and certainly all Christian pastors should as well.

Now I wait for you to condemn ALL HATRED by any group that constantly gather to harass, abuse, spit and threaten anyone they disagree with or is your moral outrage selective

Njtom my apologies if I am wrong but did you condemn the 50 deaths in the gay nightclub in Florida by an Islamic extremist and call for action from the govt.

Are you impartial in what you consider evil?

50 deaths and yet we had liberals jumping to defend Islam and where was Obama's statement of condemnation. He can't even use the word terrorism.

"It was really surprising, I mean I knew him," said his neighbor, Jacob Woessner.

"He just kind of blended in," said Ford.

But not everyone says this is a shock.

"When we covered World War Two and the rise of Hitler, he would say Hitler's views are right," said Derek Weimer, a history teacher who taught Fields at Cooper High School in Union, Kentucky.

Weimer says Fields was openly a Nazi sympathizer. He spoke in class about wishing Hitler had won and created a white supremacist empire. Weimar says hearing he is accused of being driver the this horrific and deadly crash is personal.

"I would challenge him to think a different way I always told him the U.S. has a multi-racial society. Throughout our history we had people from all different countries forging a national identity. I thought at times I got through to him, but obviously not," said Weimer.
That is two perspectives, one addresses his personality, and the other his political view...some said he was a loner, that he didn't fit in, and now there are reports he beat up his mother...this guy was a lone wolf. These are the type of people the DNC tends to target to manipulate..

I remember the Veritas videos and how the DNC operative said they target and paid unstable people and send them to rally's to START 'stuff'.

They had a legal right to protest...the failure was in law enforcement, the mayor, the governor, in not taking proper precautions.

I stated elsewhere, Georgia had just such a rally at Stone Mountain...the supremacy had a permit and a designated area....and social media was a hot bed of counter protest calls...when they all showed up they found a WALL of protection for the permitted rally....I read later there was a single very minor incident at that hotbed rally.

Either negligence or evil design literally set up this volatile situation...

You doubt they would have shown up? They would have shown in en-mass.

The right position would be to say this, " a legally protected rally will take place by 'such n such group'. Any counter rally protesters who show up without a permit will be disbursed or arrested. All legal protesters will be required to go to and remain IN your designated area. That designated area will be no less that 2 city blocks apart. ALL resources of the police force will be present and we have ZERO tolerance for ANY act of aggression..."

The government leaders taking sides would fuel it, just like President Obama did when his response to Fergusion riots began with 'I understand....'
