They're trying to get me to pay because I use the links from photobucket to post pics. So tell me, why do they provide the direct link if they don't want you using it? I won't be paying though.
I found out what is happening is that even when I use the code from this forum such as : D (had to put a space in there) photobucket still posts that thing. Weird. Not sure how it's doing that. I'll do the grin without the space in it below.
Somebody explain that one to me.
Photobucket Is Holding People's Photos For "Ransom"
The company is now charging a $400 fee to hot-link images — which will break photos on tons of old websites and blogs.

Photobucket's 'ransom demand' is a masterclass in how not to treat your users

Image hosting site Photobucket is facing plenty of backlash on social media and its support channels as it recently made a massive change to its terms of service that affected loads of users in the worst way possible.
Near the end of June, the Denver, Colorado-based company introduced a fee for serving images displayed on other sites – like an Amazon, eBay or Etsy product listing, or even pictures in forum post and on blogs. That came as a rude shock to many of Photobucket's 100 million customers, who found a notification in place of their images on on other sites...

Free service is unsustainable in an age of online ad blockers, Photobucket CEO says

The rise of ad blockers and other trends in online advertising prompted Denver-based Photobucket to risk angering many of its 100 million users and start charging people to host billions of images used around the internet.
The 14-year-old company, which became popular as a way to share images on early social network MySpace.com, stopped offering free image hosting in late June, switching to charging subscriptions rather than relying on ad revenue....

The weird thing if you see my post above GIMJ is that even if I use our site's codes, like the grin, it shows up when I type it manually. How has photoshop highjacked that?
In case you’ve been affected by Photobucket’s change in its terms of service, we’d love to hear from you. And if you’re looking for an alternative, Imgur might be a good way to go. It offers unlimited storage, allows hotlinking (except for porn and illegal content), and made its Pro features available to all users for free back in 2015.
