    Want some 68-year-old wedding cake?

Piece of cake: Queen's wedding cake sold for £500 at auction

-The fruit cake, still wrapped in its original baking parchment, was one of the portions given to guests following the marriage of Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947.

It comes with its original ivory-coloured box decorated with silver a E and P and the words “Buckingham Palace 20th November 1947”, as well as a small card inscribed “With the best wishes of their Royal Highnesses Princess Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh”...

According to the article, it's still edible due to the high alcohol content in it..but still, I ain't that desperate for wedding cake.

If I was offered a piece of it for free to eat, I'd try a small piece.

I don't really care why it is still edible. Military rations and old McDonalds burgers are still edible after decades, they don't put alcohol in either. The alcohol in the wedding cake might make it even less tasty, I don't know.
