Margaret Court - Gay Marriage and Qantas

Margaret Court in her time was the best female Tennis player on Earth. She is now a pentecostal pastor who has taken a public stand against gay marriage.
Qantas is our major Airline Company and Alan Joyce as CEO who is gay has publically used his position to call for legalised gay marriage.

Margaret has taken a tough position but the problem she faces is we only have 2 Airlines flying domestically Qantas and Virgin and Richard Branson from Virgin also supports gay marriage. Not flying Qantas will severely affect travel around the nation

A major tennis stadium is also named in her honor and Martina Navratilova has called for her name to be removed

According to the principle of freedom of association Virgin can refuse Margaret Court services and then what ? I'm not sure we are called to attack people or institutions like that. I can't find where Jesus stormed into the local idol temple to denounce the priest there as exceedingly sinful. He was into preaching the gospel and rebuking those who claimed to follow God.

She didnt denounce the CEO but her comments were in relation to the CEO using his position in a public company to promote legalise gay marriage.
Many non Christians are also upset how he has used his position to promote his belief in the political arena.

Boycotting non-essential services like Coca Cola or something would make more sense. People do that for all sorts of reasons, why not because of a stated policy on gay marriage.

Attacking people is one thing and that may be interpreted as targeting the CEO for being gay. But Jesus didn't spend time rallying against the Roman authorities either, nor did the epistle authors. At some point it becomes "the Christians vs society" and that is too much unless it is strictly about preaching the gospel.

1 Cor 5:12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
13 But those who are outside God judges.

Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Have to disagree Colonel as she is not attacking the CEO but replying to his agenda.
Many non believers are also saying he has misused he's position. His job is to make Qantas a success not promote same sex marriage.

Since he represents a public company then the public have right if reply

Since Virgin does the same thing it seems like it's about the CEO of Quantas. We can't boycott all flight companies, that is absurd. There has to be an acceptable alternative to the one boycotted. A better idea could be to promote companies that express a different opinion or have a different policy, where that is applicable. Fairtrade companies instead of exploiting companies as an example.

Did you read the scriptures I quoted above ?

1 Cor 5:12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
13 But those who are outside God judges.

If the private jet flying preachers didn't spend their (or the congregation's) money on private jets then maybe there would be enough money to start an airline instead.

So they should take your advice instead of obeying the Holy Spirit about how they should travel to preach the Gospel in foreign lands? God didn't call them to "start airlines" He told them to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to everyone. They can't do that successfully using commercial airlines, but of course you knew that.
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

Once again the problem is that the church (globally) doesn't have a positive position on the issue of homosexuality. By positive, I don't mean "for" it. I mean all the unbelievers (gay and straight) ever hear on the issue is that Christians are against homosexuality. They virtually never hear that we have compassion for them as for all sinners and that we have a positive message of freedom for them. My take on it is if you or your church are not actively supporting (prayerfully and financially) either local or national ministries to gays, then shut up! Sorry to be blunt, but I know that most of these ministries are in danger of going under due to lack of support. I know it's much easier to simply call homosexuality a sin and call people to repent from it. It's much harder to get involved or to send money or pray for these ministries, but if you're going to criticize, why not instead become part of the solution.
