Thread: Erin Moran, Who Played Joanie on 'Happy Days', Dead at 56

I've been reading a lot of comments on facebook from people that felt her ex co-stars should have been looking out for her. Maybe so, but then I think of the people I've worked with 30 years ago and I have lost touch with all of them. Is it really reasonable to put any of this on her ex castmates?

Not in my opinion. I don't keep up with coworkers of 30 years ago.

Per the following earlier link, sounds like some did try to help her:

"Actor Henry Winkler even tried to help Moran nab a spot on his show Arrested Development as it emerged she had been bouncing around motels after a drunken brawl with her mother-in-law in 2012..."

This sounds like one of those sad situations where family and friends tried to assist, but the addiction was stronger than their efforts to help - And there comes a point where people just throw up their hands and say, "OK, I've done all I can do."

Exactly. It happened with Michael Jackson. There were Interventions held by his family more than once, but he made the choice to listen to "other" voices.

It's obvious they didn't read the entire article. There was plenty of help available to her, she evidently wouldn't or couldn't receive it.

WhileI don't know what Erin's relationship with Christ was like before she passed, it does seem that she knew Him at one time in her life. I read a long while ago before her passing where Tom Bosley ran into her on a airline flight ad saw her reading the Bible which seemed to make him happy. According to CBN, Lisa Welchel (The serious Christian actress from "Facts of Life") led her to the Lord:
