The Firing of Bill O'Reilly
By Warren Smith Published on April 23, 2017

Fox News fired its most popular host, Bill O'Reilly, this week. The firing came after The New York Times reported details of more than $13 million paid to women who worked on or appeared on O'Reilly's show. The women had accused O'Reilly of sexual harassment. O'Reilly at first "denied the claims have merit," but Fox apparently concluded otherwise....
...O'Reilly's fans are attempting to paint him as a victim of a politically correct environment. Ed Martin, president of Eagle Forum, the organization founded by Phyllis Schlafly, wrote: "O'Reilly is a folk hero to the regular folks in America who know the truth."
I have a different perspective. I commend Fox for making a courageous decision that will no doubt cost it millions of dollars in the short term. What is sad is that a man many people saw as an effective spokesman for their values has been rendered impotent because of his character....
...But National Review columnist David French has pointed out that the rises and falls of these conservative celebrities may be as much "our" fault as theirs. French writes that we have created a "toxic culture of conservative celebrity" in which we value not the character of our leaders, but rather their ability to inflict wounds on our political enemies. "Knifework, not character or integrity, is what we demand from our ideological gladiators," French writes. "We're paying the price."...
...So what can we learn from the O'Reilly episode? Here are a few possible lessons:
First, we should demand character, not merely competence, from our political leaders and cultural spokesmen....
...Secondly, let's remember that "conservative" does not always equal "Christian." We live in an era in which the culture is trending away from Christian ideas and toward secularism. ...
...Thirdly, we should remember that the ends do not justify the means. The Christian worldview is true, but it is not merely true. It is also good and beautiful. If we resort to the ugly, the evil, and the banal in our public discourse and private lives, we undermine the truth we want the world to hear.
Finally, let's not depend so much on our media stars to do the heavy lifting of cultural change. ... And cultural engagement means more than following a media celebrity on Facebook or retweeting a clever meme.
...I often speak to young people who are burning with enthusiasm to "make a difference" in the world. My counsel to them is usually "If you want to change the world, first make your bed." We should remember that the best evidence for the transformative power of the Gospel is the testimony of our own transformed lives. Christians should live differently if we want our ideas to have credibility in the public square.
To conclude: I cannot say with certainty whether Bill O'Reilly is guilty or innocent of the sexual harassment charges, but the evidence we do have, and his spectacular fall from public favor, should lead to a teachable moment for the conservative movement and Christians in particular. We should take a good, long, hard look in the cultural mirror and remember Shakespeare's words: "The fault . . . is not in our [media] stars, but in ourselves."
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...

I like FOX but don't watch it that much tho I have noticed it a bit with O'Reilly.
Didn't know that...how omniscient of him.
Didn't know that either...but apparently they're married now.
You all made me curious about Murdoch... a little more info from Wiki:
On 25 June 1999, 17 days after divorcing his second wife, Murdoch, then aged 68, married Chinese-born Wendi Deng.[137] She was 30, a recent Yale School of Management graduate, and a newly appointed vice-president of his STAR TV. Murdoch has two daughters with her: Grace (born 2001) and Chloe (born 2003). Murdoch has six children in all, and is grandfather to thirteen grandchildren.[138] On 13 June 2013, a News Corporation spokesperson confirmed that Murdoch filed for divorce from Deng in New York City, U.S.[139][140] According to the spokesman, the marriage had been irretrievably broken for more than six months.[141] Murdoch also ended his long-standing relationship with Tony Blair after suspecting him of having an affair with Deng while they were still married.[142] While Murdoch would often attend Mass with Deng, he never formally converted to Catholicism.
On 11 January 2016, Murdoch announced his engagement to former model Jerry Hall in a notice in The Times newspaper.[145] On 4 March 2016, Murdoch, a week short of his 85th birthday, and 59-year-old Hall were married in London, at Spencer House; this is Murdoch's fourth marriage.[146]

I am pretty sure that Sean Hannity, FOX's ultra-conservative voice, is also Catholic.

While I am sad for O'Reilly's situation, the man was not exactly a champion for CHRISTIAN conservatives.

Ezekiel 33 (04-24-2017), Valiant Woman (04-26-2017)
It's trending on facebook now that someone is accusing Sean Hannity of sexual harassment. He is vehemently denying it, saying this woman has brought false accusations for years (but not sexual harrassment, that's new) He is suing her. I think that is what its going to come down to. If they are not guilty, they don't have the luxury of settling, they will have to take the women to court. Otherwise, it will be a blotch on their reputation.

I agree with Mr. Smith on this point, and FOX News and the way some of the Conservatives on there like to joke about their drinking habits, endorsing television programs that are shameful, and other things is definitely evidence of this fact. Furthermore, you have plenty of conservatives who identify themselves as homosexuals as well. An interview that 60 Minutes did between Mike Wallace and Bill O'Reilly was firm evidence that he held less than Christian conservative values based on Scripture.
That being said, Political conservativism is much closer to Christianity than Liberalism will ever be. If nothing else, at least most conservatives, including O'Reilly, was against the Planned Parenthood Baby murder industry. That is why, from a political standpoint, I will stay with conservatism. It is closer to my Christian values though it does not embrace them completely. Hence, I have never nor will I ever deceive myself into thinking equating political conservativism with Christianity.

It seems strange that Fox gets all these accusations but ABC and NBC and CBS never has any accusations over the years.
