DETROIT (WJBK) - A woman was escorted out of a metro Detroit church by Redford police before services started.

"They put me in handcuffs. They put me in the back of the car and processed me like a criminal for trespassing.", said Dr. Charisse Gibert, escorted out of church.

Gibert said she did not do anything wrong. In fact, she has been a fixture at the Detroit World Outreach church for years. Gibert has been a member for 17 years and pastoring with her husband, Ben Gibert, for 12 years. Ben passed away in February.

Officials with Detroit World Outreach declined Fox 2's request for an interview. A statement was posted on its website:

I heard about this a few days ago, and I think it's horrible! I wouldn't want to be in those folks shoes that took this to court and wronged this sister. Unconscionable! SMH

I had heard only one side of the situation from a Facebook friend who is a member there, and a friend of Dr. Charisse. She is a former member of my home Church in Michigan. From what she related, the Elders dragged this situation before the secular courts, and because of that, it put them in a bad light with me, so I decided to side with Dr. Charisse. But now, I'll wait and see what happens in the end.

However, something is wrong there. They've had two pastors die very young. Something is up.

And I'll say this, not blaming the pastors, but my cousins have been members there for a number of years, yet I've not seen much growth in either of them. Particularly the older one who is a very strong supporter of Barack Obama and Al Sharpton, and has barely spoken to me since I became a Trump supporter. Sad.

LOL! I have no knowledge of this church, this late pastor or what was taught but I do know that those who claim to be members of a church are not always a reflection of the church or the pastor. I have had members in my church who were also strong supporters of Barak Obama despite all of my teaching against his ideology. One of them said, "I don't think I better tell pastor who I voted for" (which let me know who she voted for ) Some can sit under good teaching for years and NEVER grow.

I think it was Fred Price who once said, "That's the problem. They keep sitting UNDER the teaching."

I went on Charisse Gibert's FB page and saw the following--https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3hx5LrK8pfiN0JSNFFVdGFMUXc/view

I'll admit, I felt a heaviness (sadness) when I watched the video of her being escorted out of the service...not so much for her (I don't know her nor have I been under her ministry) but for the church and its members/attenders, who are needing strong leadership at a time like this...BUT after reading her letter, it sounds like a church split is happening. If it is, then I'm praying that the public squabbling stops and each side go their own way.

Amen, Brother! - Our pastor always said: "If you're not walking in the righteousness of the Lord, PLEASE don't tell anyone you're a member of my church!"

I don't know the legalities of how this church originally employed the pastor and his wife

But I would never support a pastor and his wife to be both senior pastors as it is fraught with danger. More male pastors die before their wives and there is no way the church should automatically accept the wife to become senior pastor

Even if the wife is on staff as a pastor and getting paid it does not mean she is next in line. The church is not a company or earthly kingdom where family members become senior pastors. The church is God's kingdom on earth and should be lead by the Holy Spirit not man's carnal mentality

Pastor's wives should be respected but there are many who have become lifted up with pride and think they deserve more than others
Many churches have become damaged by over bearing and controlling pastors wives who demand recognition

Obviously the majority of Pastor's wives are decent and godly and are a great blessing to the church

Some official statements from the DWO Board of Elders which include DWO's founding Pastor Jack Wallace's widow, Pastor Gael Wallace:

...and this last video speaks of how a while back her own husband clarified that she was not the Assistant Pastor:
