Thread: Secret Service looking at agent who suggested she wouldn't defend Trump from bullet

Washington (CNN)The Secret Service said Tuesday it is taking "appropriate action" after one of its agents suggested on Facebook that she would not defend President Donald Trump should someone try to shoot him.

Kerry O'Grady, a senior agent in the Denver field office, made a series of now-deleted postings on Facebook during the campaign saying that she supported Democrat Hillary Clinton and that she would not honor a federal law that prevents agents like her from airing their political beliefs publicly. O'Grady deleted the posts shortly after The Washington Examiner reported them on Tuesday.

"As a public servant for nearly 23 years, I struggle not to violate the Hatch Act. So I keep quiet and skirt the median," she wrote in one Facebook post, as reported by the Examiner. "To do otherwise can be a criminal offense for those in my position. Despite the fact that I am expected to take a bullet for both sides."

"But this world has changed and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here. Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her," she wrote.

The Secret Service said in a statement Tuesday that it could not comment on a specific personnel matter but that it was "aware of the postings and the agency is taking quick and appropriate action."

"All Secret Service agents and employees are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct," the agency said in a statement. "Any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and swiftly investigated."

The postings were on O'Grady's personal account, noted a person familiar with the matter, but said the agency is trying to determine if she posted the information while she was working...

Had Hilary won this criminal violation of ethics would be hailed as heroic...so glad we have a new leader who believes such ethics should be held high regardless of who is president...

What the LEFT wants Americans to believe is that President Trump is evil but the truth is he is a conservative AMERICAN..not a conservative Republican....as someone said, he truly was a third party candidate and Republican in name only...
He is going to make a of of people mad in all walks of life because he truly does want what is best for America as a whole and not what any particular class or minority wants...for things to get better there has t be an uncomfortable shift..people who listened to media left and voted against him and people who heard only what they wanted to hear and voted for him may all be surprised to find he is a moderate who ran on the platform of a voice for all Americans....so when he makes decisions that conservatives don't like they and left and the media will say he lied...when he makes decisions that they like the media and the left will say he is a conservative bigoted hater...fact is unless individuals think for themselves they will not have a vision for America but the vision the left and the media want them to have...

The diet I chose is low carb, medium protein, high fat....about 3 days into this new eating process the cells in the body run out of sugar glucose to eat and get 'confused'. This causes a very uncomfortable day...but then they regroup, and discover their new food source....healthy fat....and the energy level starts to rise....as these cells feed on their new food source they discover a ne sustained energy and the immune system starts to get stronger than before and they are more able to attack rebellious cells and clean out the system....

IF Americans would begin to look outside themselves, we are talking about a whole generational shift, to thinking about what is best for AMERICA's future rather than the temporal satisfaction of the moment....

I hope and pray he is able to do that ...at least temporarily...

Well there you go...if she wants jail time rather doing her sworn duties as a Secret Service agent then fire her and jail her as per her request, she has no business being in that profession.

Correct, once they feel hey cannot continue to keep their oath they should exit....not attempt to remain in a position where they are a threat to the nation..

I do wonder how many of the other secret service people feel the same way and would allow for unsafe environments on purpose. A scary thought to think of but could be a reality too. I've often wonder how infiltrated our system is with the enemy already.
