Its one of the major tactics of the left...silence the opposition with cries of Islamophobia

If the pageant accepted her, then she was in compliance with whatever dress standards they happened to have.

This is not a case of a person suing the pageant to force it to change their standards.

No need to emit cries when the attitude is obvious.

Have you ever asked that question of liberals or is it just conservatives you get offended with?

Left liberals take the cake when it comes to hypocrisy and intolerance

ok...thanks for bringing that up...I retract my comment

I thought Miss America had a dress code ...if they didn't then she is allowed to enter

First, if a person wants to give "religious" expression, a beauty pageant is NOT the place to do it. I don't even agree with Christians getting into those things since there is no place for modesty when you must where a bathing suit.

But a beauty pageant (and I have not watched one probably since I was a kid) is supposed to be, to my recollection, a place to judge someone's beauty, which includes their face and body. If you do not want your face and body judged then do not enter a pageant. If what happens in pageants is against your religious views then do NOT enter into one. I really believe that it is that simple.

The real bigotry is with those who continue to try to force acceptance of their lifestyle and dress codes. Do you understand? (I didn't think so but alas, perhaps the Lord will at least give me some credit in the Heavenly reward system for trying to talk some sense into you).
    BINGO.

Tom, this has nothing to do with tolerating others who choose to live a different way. This is about entering a beauty pageant. The pageant should tell her she can't compete that way because they have certain dress codes that she can't comply with. The reason they probably haven't done that (if they haven't) is that they would be first publicly derided on social media and the press, and if they stuck to their guns then she would probably sue. If she is serious about entering a beauty pageant she should find one where how she dresses is appropriate. But I suspect that isn't really the reason she's doing it.

And I totally agree with AJ's statement:

Do we dare say that if it had been any other American girl, refusing to wear the pageant "uniforms" of gowns and bathing suits, they wouldn't be allowed to compete?
