Ryan Lochte, Olympics teammates lied about robbery to cover up gas station brawl
Ryan Lochte and his U.S. swimming teammates lied about a gunpoint robbery in order to cover up an incident at a gas station bathroom — and used cash to pay for damages, according to Brazilian police officials.
Lochte, along with fellow swimmers Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz, and Jimmy Feigen, stopped at a gas station in the Rio suburb of Barra da Tijuca at about 6 a.m. Sunday, the official told the Associated Press.
One of the swimmers tried to open the door of an outside bathroom – and after finding it locked, the swimmers allegedly pushed on the door and broke it.
An armed security guard confronted the swimmers, and a fight ensued, ABC News reports.
A security guard drew a gun at the U.S. swimmers after they drunkenly “destroyed a gas station toilet and refused to pay for the damage,” according to the British Daily Mail, but the swimmers then paid.
American swimmers Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, James Feigen and Lochte claimed to be victims of an alleged armed robbery of their taxi cab en route to the Olympic Village on their way back from a party at the French hospitality house early Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Not to mention, they seem to forget that they're in a FOREIGN COUNTRY! Different laws apply... what you might get a slap on the wrist for in Canada or the US has the potential to be very serious elsewhere!
Also, they're representing their country on the world stage. Is there anything bigger and that would draw more attention to their bad behavior than the Olympics?
Yeeeessshhh.... SMH

Anyone know what the consequences might be? It won't be prison time will it?
I am thinking that Ryan and the others have enough money to buy themselves a deal. After all, money usually gets people off in a lot of cases.
Or perhaps the Olympic Organization might work out a deal in order to save face and so that this will quietly go away.
Or they may take his gold medal away?
I'm just throwing out guesses
