The article lacks details that I can't find on other sites either. If this was such a huge and treasured historical site was it protected in some way? Was it fenced off or guarded in any way?

It doesn't give the ages of the boys involved either, surely there had to be a plaque or something posted there indicating that it was a natural treasure with warnings not deface it, right? So how could they claim they didn't know what they were doing.

I havent seen it in the news so I dont know. There was similar stuff found in the countryside around Alta when I was a child and there were no signs or anything. But the one with the skis is a major one so maybe there was a sign or something.

Never heard of it and have no idea where Tro island might be. Do you, Col?

It's in the North, just like Alta.
