-Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder who recently backed a multi-state initiative, Fwd.us, to counter the border crackdowns being pushed by the likes of Republican Donald Trump, has come under fire from his Hawaiian neighbors for, of all things, building a stone wall around his personal 750-acre estate property.
“The feeling of it is really oppressive,” said one resident, Gy Hall, to the local Garden Island newspaper. “It’s immense.”

Zuckerberg has been highly critical of Trump’s campaign vows to build a wall between American and Mexico, and make the Mexican government pay for it. But his own wall-building activities have started to irk.

“It’s really sad that somebody would come in and buy a huge piece of land and the first thing they do is cut off this view that’s been available and appreciat[ed] by the community here for years,” Hall went on, Breitbart reported.

A Twitter post from the Daily Mail showed the before-after effect of Zuckerberg’s building, with a photograph and this text: “Pictured: Six-foot wall around Mark Zuckerberg’s $100m Hawaii retreat.”

Zuckerberg, in April, sideswiped Trump and his presidential plans to build a wall by calling such intents fearful.

He said then, Breitbart reported: “I hear fearful voices calling for building walls and distancing people they label as others. For blocking free expression, for slowing immigration, reducing trade, and in some cases around the world even cutting access to the Internet. It takes courage to choose hope over fear. People will always call you naive but it’s this hope and this optimism that’s behind every important step forward.”

Local residents aren’t happy with Zuckerberg’s own wall construction project, however...
