You left out vs 1 and 2

5 Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.

3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?
Clearly he was in violation of a some kind of agreement that you weren't to Keep back part of the money if you were going to participate wasn't he ?

Second the ARTICLE says "A 92-year-old Alabama woman will no longer be considered a member of the church she attended for over 50 years because she was not tithing." So I'm reading the article again as you suggested and that is the first line. Then, "It went on that King "has shown non-support" of the church regarding "constant and consistent financial and physical participation."

King’s nephew, Gerald Simmons, said the real reason that his aunt was cut off from the church was that she was not tithing. The “physical participation” referred to a time when King was sick for several months and considered a shut-in.
    "

Ok, so I reread it. No strawmen here. Maybe YOU didn't actually read it?
So you are going by what the Thread title (Keep in mind taht the thread starter is Virulenlly anti-tithing) said and what Kings Nephew said not what the Church Said .... And you focused Like A Laser beam on the Tithe and used that to bash tithers and the tithe doctrine ... No ?

I already highlighted the part of verse 4 where Peter pinpoints that the money was Ananias' to dispose of. You aren't going to get a long debate over that passage.

    I'll ask you again :

If "constant financial support" has nothing to do with the singular tithing system then please come up with an example of a church that does not teach that system and which includes requirements for giving money (according to any system) to that church in its requirements for church membership.

I don't think she is "virulently anti-tithing", rather I think she is generally passionate about what she discusses. A virulent anti-tither would be aggressive about her right to not give anything rather than about her obligation to obey the Spirit in her giving (in fact to any degree). As a matter of fact, I don't think you can find any "virulent anti-tithers" on this forum, at least not among the long time regulars.

Many churches require membership dues and some churches refer to their membership dues as tithes even if the membership dues aren't necessarily 10% .

So yes there are many permutations in terms of financial obligations outside of what we would refer to as the tithe that churches adopt .

Whatever the case may be everybody is supposed to support their church financially and different churches implement different methods.

Suffice to say that matters like these despite the sensational headlines are for those close to the matter to judge due to the many nuances that may arise that we may not be privy to.

What I don't get is how people sit thousands of miles away and make absolute pronounciations and judgements over matters that they simply aren't privy to.

This is what you typically come up with in defense of people or organizations that you admire or approve of. As Fuego pointed out the details are out, at least sufficiently that your general defense becomes merely theoretical.

It's discussion in general about the idea and the topic. If a church or person .... then ....

An impossibility, and I don't mean the use of the word tithe not meaning ten percent
