Quit arguing against self erected strawmen please ..this is about meeting membership commitments whatever they may be and having ALL THE FACTS before judging and nothing more
If this has got nothing to do with the singular tithing system then please come up with an example of a church that does not teach that system and which includes requirements for giving money to that church in its requirements for church membership.

Uh...what thread have you been reading? This whole thread is about her being kicked out due to not tithing and the defense by some of that action. No strawmen here.

That isn't true. They got killed in the presence of the Spirit for lying to the Spirit about the amount they gave. Peter said that they weren't required to give anything at all so that had nothing to do with it. Please read the passage before you make claims like that.

Perhaps you should read the article again not just the sensationalist headlines .. Where did the church who kicked her out say it was because of non tithing? Hence why the treatise on tithing ?

I think YOU should read the passage again .. Question is why did Peter ask the QUestion in the first place ...?? Why didn't Peter simply receive whatever they brought and let the matter go ??
Point is there was an agreed upon financial commitment when it came to supporting whatever system they had in place which THEY VIOLATED

I'm quoting from the letter :
"has shown non-support in the areas of constant financial and physical participation with church activities and functions"

Acts 5:3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?
4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal ?

Well for starters, "Church Revokes 92-Year-Old Woman's Membership for Not Tithing" is the title of this thread AND the article.
Second the ARTICLE says "A 92-year-old Alabama woman will no longer be considered a member of the church she attended for over 50 years because she was not tithing." So I'm reading the article again as you suggested and that is the first line. Then, "It went on that King "has shown non-support" of the church regarding "constant and consistent financial and physical participation."
King's nephew, Gerald Simmons, said the real reason that his aunt was cut off from the church was that she was not tithing. The "physical participation" referred to a time when King was sick for several months and considered a shut-in."
Ok, so I reread it. No strawmen here. Maybe YOU didn't actually read it?
