if you're that desperate, find a bush!
Whether or not it is "civilized" is a matter of culture. When I was stationed in Germany in the early 80s it was perfectly normal and accepted behavior to step into an alley downtown if you needed to. When you gotta go.........

If there were more public restrooms, people would be less inclined to "go" in public.

It's interesting. Men keep using the word "people" and defending it. This is not a thing that WOMEN do. It's 99.9 a man thing.

Somewhere in rural India I saw adult women squat down in the middle of the street and leave a yellow pool, the whole thing took a few seconds.

I remember you telling that story before... but I think rural India, where even a decent outhouse can be found, can't even begin to be compared to urban North America or Europe.
I still say that if women can find a toilet to use, so can men.

I'm with AJ on this, if women can find a restroom, so can men. It's a male thinking issue, they don't have to drop their trousers to their knees and squat, so why bother finding a potty.
