I remember specifically seeing him one time at Atlanta Stadium in the early 70s. My friend Jimmy and me were sitting behind a couple of female teenagers who were Reds fans (we would have been about 17 or 18) and they kept yelling "Go Charlie Hustle!" which was his nickname. Just to be funny I finally yelled "Boo Charlie Hustle!" and they turned around and we all laughed.

Do this, and if you are not a wicked man, and a stranger to God, you will soon have as much of the spirit of prayer as your body can sustain. -Charles Finney 'The Spirit of Prayer' from 'Lectures On Revivals of Religion'

"There is no denying that Rose would've been a first-ballot Hall of Famer had voters had the chance to check off his name in 1992."

I personally thought he should have been in, gambling or not.

Pete Rose was a Legend. One of the greatest baseball players ever to swing a bat at home plate. Also, a true switch hitter.
I never really understood the gambling episode during his life. Why exactly the league banned him.
I was never happy that his hall of fame honors never became a reality. So sad for this to have happened to such a phenomenal athlete.
I hope he received Christ as his Savior. I hope to see Pete in heaven.
