Euro Digital Currency - Coming in October

European Central Bank President reveals plans to launch a digital euro (CBDC), says there will be control over payments.

I am wondering what is the bad point about this project? Is it the controll?

In Switzerland we do not have the Euro,
but we have - and I am very happy about that- a controll system.

This controll does nor efffect people like me,
the goal is the fight against corruption and crime.
For example, nowaday if you open a bank account you have to reveal your name and nationality. There are no anonym accounts anymore.

Through the controlls it has became harder to whitewash money from crime.

That's a funny story, controlling money to control crime. I think a better story would be that they need to impose tyranny to protect the children, that usually works better.

Anyway the way they control digital assets here is already abusive, if you hold an unpopular view or sell legal products that are not politically correct they just turn off your ability to use Paypal or other credit card services so you can't collect money, well, no money for you, they just turned it off. Now, oh, yes, I can see how that is "fighting corruption".

Anyway, money is a store of value, used to exchange for goods and services, not a tool to control populations.

Hey, the back story on the original post is that Christine Lagarde, the woman in charge of European money was actually talking to a prankster posing as Zelenskyyyyy from Ukraine, what a fool she is and of course this bright woman who can't even screen a prankster is going to control your money.. hahaha

Switzerland still is a haven for criminals even after promising to change

Despite signing up to the CRS, the landlocked Alpine country's financial system is the third-most secretive in the world after the Cayman Islands and the US, according to the Tax Justice Network, and accounts for $21bn in lost tax revenue for foreign countries every year.

well, I am happy that we have some regulation and controll in the finance system.
Yes, it does not work perfectly, but things have changed in the last 20 years and Switzerland is not the first place anymore to hide money.
Just because there is no way to totally stop corruption and crime does not mean to me that you should give up fighting

The push for digital currency has nothing to do with fighting crime. It is about total control of the individual. Your money can be turned off if you espouse views that are not aligned with the elite. They are doing this in China now, digital currency, your money actually expires after a set time and of course if your social credit score drops they just erase your money.

Again, this has nothing to to with crime or corruption, in fact the people imposing this are the most corrupt individuals on the planet.

During the trucker convoy of Feb-March 2022, the Trudeau Gov't actually gave the order to freeze bank accounts of ordinary citizens and the banks complied. If they could do it in the present system, think of how much more it can be done when it all shifts over to digital... This digital system is not going to be good for ordinary people.

I would add that the digital system won't be good for ordinary people exercising their God-given rights to have freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, and most importantly, being vocal or posting on social media about their Christian worldview.
