Your job gives you an up close picture of the economy. You can predict the economy, things like retail sales based on what's on the curb. In that 2008 mess there were a lot of heaps, people just chucked everything and went elsewhere. Another obvious econ indicator was when they sent out stimulus funds, the first round of checks people bought TVs, the second round they bought appliances and the third round, furniture. Amazon was probably the biggest winner of all that stimulus. I'm pretty sure you could predict Amazon sales figures/earnings announcements based on what the curb is telling you.

I've been hearing that the bank lines have been a little longer because more people are withdrawing their funds.

They're moving it from smaller regional banks to the "Too Big To Fail" banks.

Yep, as I remember, the recycle drivers were getting hit hard with all the Amazon cardboard on the curb. Also, back in 2008 I was getting an abnormal amount of suspended accounts because people couldn't pay their trash bills.

You are welcome John. I have actually found numerous promises in Scripture to this effect, but I don't want to overwhelm the forum with a bunch of quotes. Here is one of my favorites:
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. (Psalm 91:7-8)
God's people need to stop being afraid of the "evil tidings" given to us by the media (Psalm 112) and start believing in the "good tidings" of joy promised by God (Luke 2:10).

Amen! Thank you! I retired the year before, in 2007, but my retirement fund was hit hard the next year, I didn't worry, because I know God is a Restorer. He'll give us "double for our trouble."
