    Yes, exactly.

Essentially, they envision an uncivilized "law of the jungle" society.

Civilization prevents the strong from lording it over the weak; that's why the strong (at least the subset of the strong that have no moral values) oppose the concept of civilization.

But taxes create inflation and/or shortages which is of no benefit to the poor .. only people who benefit from them are government bureaucrats whom often produce little of value

Which is good for the poor .. the more the rich spend the more the people who are considered poor get income .. Last thing you want is for the rich to keep the money under their pillows .

Very simple why don't you just allow people to keep what they earn like the bible enjoins .. Believe me you will have a much more efficient and evenly distributed economy that way

The history of Abraham Lincoln is very distorted, almost cult-like in the adoration.

The truth is much different. I know you are a scholarly gentleman, take a look some time.

Not to mention that the wealthy rarely pay much tax. The have all the loop-holes and tricks to avoid paying. It's the middle class and working poor who pay into it the most.

Actually have , I am in quite a few Lincoln Groups on FB for starters ..

Just saying that folks who had no problem holding other folks in the tyranny of slavery simply had no leg to stand on in characterizing other folks as tyrants ..

I believe Tecumseh Sherman said it best .. "War is Hell"

The Lincoln cult is strong, in academia you can get cancelled/booted for not toeing the line, I think it's the original "narrative over facts". It pre-dates things like "climate change" and "vaccines are safe and effective".

You are equating income tax with civilization ... only in mad-lib world.

The truth is, roads, schools, law enforcement are paid for with local property tax, sales tax, gas tax, etc.

Civilization can do just fine without massive federal bureaucracy. In fact civilization would be greatly improved without DC swamp rats and their hair brained shenanigans.

The summary of "the facts" basically is that the slave holding states were on the verge of ending slavery and that slavery was really a benevolent institution but Lincoln the tyrant forced their hand to fight because of his violation of states rights ..Never mind that in the years leading up to the war. Southern States had no problem federalizing the issue of slavery via congressional legislation like the 1850 Fugitive Slave Act ...

In other words I strongly suspect that most of the facts you cite would amount to little more than Lost Cause Confederate Revisionism whereby slavery was reclassified s a benevolent institution and Northerners were only trying to destroy their southern economic rivals but hey prove me wrong . I am open ....
