    100 Years Ago, for the end of October, beginning of November 1922, from the pages of the Greeley Tribune-Republican newspaper:


    A 4-year-old boy, trick-or-treating on Halloween, fell into No. 3 Ditch and was carried for three blocks by the irrigation water. Police and firemen rescued him.

    An advertisement for the upcoming election is in today's Tribune. It states that Walter O'Brien, Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor, is against prohibition. And it asks: "Do you want to honor this type of man?"

    A Halloween party for boys was held at Francis Travis' home, while the girls' party was at the Edna Dye house. Both in the same neighborhood.

    Cattleman and farmer Jack Kingsberry announced that farmers have no time to worry about the election. "We've got too many problems on the farm," he said.

    A costume party for Halloween was a huge success in Galeton. Each female member of the Galeton Church Club brought $1 that she, herself, earned, then explained how she earned it. The money was given to the church.

    Columnist: "On the moon, there is no water. The mountains are as dry as powder. On the moon, there is not even one drop.

    In his bid for re-election, Sheriff Hall is getting numerous endorsements. Except from those who own illegal whiskey stills. Their drinking makes them too ignorant to realize what a good sheriff we have.

    In Los Angeles, William Sunday Jr., the son of world-known evangelist Billy Sunday, was arrested for a disturbance in another man's home. He had been arrested two weeks ago for reckless driving.
