Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones concedes Sandy Hook attack was '100% real'

AUSTIN, Texas – Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones testified Wednesday that he now understands it was irresponsible of him to declare the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre a hoax and that he now believes it was "100% real."

Speaking a day after the parents of a 6-year-old boy who was killed in the 2012 attack testified about the suffering, death threats and harassment they've endured because of what Jones has trumpeted on his media platforms, the Infowars host told a Texas courtroom that he definitely thinks the attack happened.

"Especially since I've met the parents. It's 100% real," Jones said at his trial to determine how much he and his media company, Free Speech Systems, owe for defaming Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis. Their son Jesse Lewis was among the 20 students and six educators who were killed in the attack in Newtown, Connecticut, which was the deadliest school shooting in American history...

He is in kangaroo court now.

No matter what you think of him, he is the canary in the coal mine as it relates to the stripping away of our rights.

    Good analogy

Yes, but to have momentum, the source must be credible or he will be dismissed as nothing more than a loony conspiracy advocate. What we need are some straight-forward truth tellers. So far, Ron DeSantis qualifies, though the media will be relentless in trying to bring him down.

I agree with Alex on some things, but he was off on this one. It was embarrassing.

I can't listen to him. He needs to go to a voice coach and take lessons on how to use his voice properly.

They are doing the penalty phase of the "trial", the judge declared him guilty earlier because he didn't submit enough documents during discovery. A total sham.

    Yeah, I don't understand why that's a real thing. I will assume he'll appeal.

The more hate you speak the more followers you get.
I have no understanding why somebody can spread lie after lie and be defended by followers

Loosing a child would be enough, you do not need liars like him

But I'm not sure he was lying. I think he believed these were "crisis actors" based on what he thought were pictures of several of the people in the crowd also pictured in other mass shootings. He took it too far, and stirred up his listeners to actually attack the parents who were grieving the loss of their children. Am I defending Alex Jones? No! He's a jerk who should have put a stop to it as soon as it started to get out of hand. He hurt a lot of people with his antics. Is there a real case against him here? I honestly, don't know.

    You have it all wrong.

The theory of the current batch of civil lawsuits against Alex Jones and InfoWars goes like this: he claimed on multiple occasions that the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting didn't happen. He also posited the alternative theory that it did happen, but was a false flag.

To be sure, there were lots of strange goings-on surrounding the case and the shooter. Here are just a handful:

Even mainstream outlets reported that the FBI and CIA visited the shooter Adam Lanza's house, discussed his "fascination" with mass shootings with agents who then declined to take further action.

In 2014, two years after the Sandy Hook massacre, one of the deceased victims' photographs appeared on a poster at a vigil for a Pakistan school massacre, ostensibly indicating him as a victim there as well.

One day after the shooting, a parent of a murdered child appeared on camera at a press conference laughing and smiling before taking a deep breath and assuming a more businesslike, somber tone to deliver his remarks. The rapid change in demeanor is startling and not at all what one would expect of a grieving father.

There are many more anomalies not included here for the sake of brevity.

While none of the above curiosities, alone or in combination, proves government collusion, they certainly warrant further scrutiny. And they're fair game to examine with a skeptical eye.

    Which Jones did.
