Naomi Judd, Grammy-winning artist, dead at 76
In reading the articles, her 'mental illness' was depression. It says "We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness". How do you die of 'mental illness'? So it sounds like she could have committed suicide and they said no further information would be released. "She even shared that she had seriously considered taking her own life at a bridge near her farm."

Judd's daughters announced her death in a statement on Saturday.

Naomi Judd was also the mother of Wynonna and Ashley Judd.
Her death comes just days before The Judds induction to the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday.

I am assuming she took her own life due to the mental torment

Not sure, but I vaguely recall reading that she and her daughter were "Christians" - I sure hope she knew Jesus.

She was a professing Christian. I wouldn't doubt if the meds they put her on for her depression were responsible for this. These drugs for that can make you suicidal.
