That's what I think. From what I understand a NO vote may have put his position in jeopardy, a no confidence vote would have entailed an election.

The incident also exposed all of the Davos puppets in Canadian government, maybe his overlords didn't like the attention.

I agree that it was looking like the Senate was not going to let it slide through the way he wanted it to, but they (the Senate) have approved some disastrous laws in the last few years.

The vote of Non-Confidence has to happen in Parliament and from what I understand, they could have specified (I suppose there's special wording) that this issue did not have to fall under that, to bring down the government, so that each MP, no matter their party, could have voted their conscience. But they did not do that and it ended up in the senate.

Under the video fuego posted, this is one of the comments pretty much covers it.

Let's be frank, Trudeau revoked the act for several PRIMARY reasons. 1. Some police officers donated to the convoy so an investigation would have to be automatically started and this would undermine the confidence of national, municipal, and provincial security. 2. The Senate challenged the Liberal leaders to documentation which they could not produce and the Senate deemed the use of this act as a violation 3. This overreach would also allow banks to identify scandals like WE AND SNC Lavalin along with other Liberals who hands were in the corrupt cookie jar. Don't be fooled folks. This was not a coincidence. ALSO keep in mind, the reason Peter Sloly resigned was because JIM WATSON went and spoke to the truckers behind his back. I would feel undermined too. Jim Watson should also resign.

Here is the Daily Wire's (Ben Shapiro) take.

The Daily Wire has reported that Trudeau received fierce backlash for enacting the powers on a mostly peaceful protest. "Jason Kenney, the Premier of the Canadian province of Alberta, announced Saturday that he was suing the federal government of Canada and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for their use of the Emergencies Act, calling the move unjustified in the circumstances," The Daily Wire reported Sunday.

"The situation in Ottawa is serious. Law and order has to be restored," Kenney said at the time, "But the Emergencies Act was designed to come into effect at the failure of the state," in the event of a coup or insurrection that threatened to topple Canada's democratic institutions. However, there is no insurrection or coup."

"Conservative Member of Parliament Philip Lawrence also said that the wording of the Emergencies Act grants the federal government far-reaching authority to freeze the accounts of people only tangentially involved in the protest," The Daily Wire reported.

"The de-banking provisions are so broad, that literally a clerk at a Kwik-E-Mart who sold a propane canister to a protester could have his accounts frozen," Lawrence claimed.

A Canadian court also denied Tamara Lich, one of the organizers of Canada's Freedom Convoy movement, bail because they were worried she was a flight-risk after being elected by Canadian law enforcement.

Is unclear what will happen to those arrested and when individuals will have access to their bank accounts again.

Canadians shouldn't just be outraged at this but people in the US and elsewhere should too. This video with Brand dissecting what is going on now is truly angering. Especially watching Chrystia Freeland Canadian official saying this stuff. F bomb alert.
    ________

Whilst Justin Trudeau has bowed to pressure and revoked the emergency powers he invoked just over a week ago, the Canadian government is now making financial aspects of the Emergencies Act permanent.
