I watched a few programs and a movie on History Channel. Fox News had good pieces on the Day of Infamy. Many on my facebook feed had shared thoughts and memes (me included). If we are given another 20 years it will all be forgotten.

I figured FOX would have something. My daddy who was in the Army was on the way home from Hawaii on a ship when it happened. They turned the ship around and went back and he was at Ft Derussy just around the corner from Pearl Harbor. So that was why we always remembered it over the decades.

This was before he knew my mother, and I don't know if you remember me doing a thread about it, but after doing Ancestry a few years ago I get an email from a young woman who did it with her sisters and dad, and we I came up a familial match with her dad. Come to find out I had a half brother in Hawaii. lol.

Daddy had some pics in an album from when he was in Hawaii, and there was only one and it had two women in it. I sent her a copy of it and she said, "That's my grandmother on the right". She sent me a pic of her grandmother and dad when he was a boy. Anyway, life's little surprises. lol.

Wow what a story for the family. Stuff like that makes the dna ancestry searches so worth it.
