Gov. Ron DeSantis to TREAT China Virus Patients

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday that Florida is increasing the availability of monoclonal antibody therapies by opening a rapid response unit to administer this treatment, Regeneron, in Jacksonville.

DeSantis said the state will be exploring an additional long-term location at the Jacksonville Public Library, as well as other locations throughout the state.

Regeneron, a monoclonal antibody cocktail, is an FDA approved treatment for COVID patients to help keep people out of the state's rapidly filling hospitals.

At Triple O Medical in West Palm Beach, dr. Olayami Osiyemi offers it to patients via IV infusion.

"We put the IV in the arm and infuse the medication for a 30 minute period," said Dr. Olaymi Osiyemi of Triple O Medical in West Palm Beach.

He stresses the treatment is not a substitute for a COVID-19 vaccine.

"The idea is not to overwhelm the hospital systems, so if we can get to these folks before they get sick enough to be in the hospital, take care of them, that will be the best thing," said Dr. Osiyemi.

Palm Beach County Commissioner Melissa McKinlay says work is already underway to get the mobile clinics here.

"We do have one of our assistant county administrators working with AMR, which is American Medical Response, a private ambulance company, they have been looking at setting up these treatments programs across the county," said Commissioner Melissa McKinlay.

The governor also announced strike teams will be sent to nursing homes.

For the over 400 residents at Sinai Residences of Boca Raton, Executive Director Rachel Blumberg is on board with this idea.

"By taking them out of that safe, isolated apartment, that is putting so many others potentially at risk, so to get this therapy when they're positive in their home, without leaving their safe environment is huge," said Sinai Residences of Boca Raton Executive Director Rachel Blumberg.

I expect the FDA will cancel the Emergency Use Authorization for the antibodies fairly quickly.

This is some good stuff. You know I support voluntary vaccination, but if this treatment is readily available, it could be a game changer.

Well, from what I understand, it is both a treatment and a vaccine, you are infused with antibodies, in fact if you get the infusion, they recommend you do not get vaccinated for at least 90 days but the vaccinated can get the infusion. The treatment has been around for a long time, Trump received it when he had the China virus. There are 2 treatment centers near me, open 7 days, free of charge.

I think I mentioned here or in another thread that I expect the treatment to lose it's Emergency Authorization status. It's all political here with everyone trying to take down the Governor. Pfizer/Fauci/Biden can't be too happy about this either. I'm hopeful that this program continues but not really confident that it will.

The doctors who did a propaganda show earlier in the week didn't mention the treatment, they were complaining about too many Covid patients showing up at the hospital and insisted that vaccines were the only remedy. They never mentioned that the ill could just head over to the nearest treatment center and get better. They have lost all credibility, putting their self interest above treating the sick.

As far as it being a game changer, I'm pretty sure the corrupt establishment will play the game as long as possible, soon they will be calling for people to be octo-vaxxed. Only when it becomes abhorrently apparent that their strategy is a failure will they stop (maybe). I hope it doesn't come to that but they are what they are.

Florida Surpasses 10,000 Monoclonal Antibody Treatments at State-Sponsored Sites

PUNTA GORDA, Fla.—The state of Florida has administrered more than 10,000 doses of the monoclonal antibodies treatment at state-sponsored sites since since Florida began rolling out the program two weeks ago, the office of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) told The Epoch Times.

Demand for the treatment is high and is expected to go higher as word gets out and new sites are continuing to open throughout the state, Christina Pushaw, the governor's press secretary, said.

The 10,000 doses administered at state-sponsored sites do not include treatment administrered at infusion centers at clinics and hospitals around the state.

Baptist Health South Florida's Dr. Oscar Hernandez says he refers five to six patients for the treatment every day.

"The state is doing their part," Hernandez said. "Doctors need to be more proactive in recommending the monoclonals to high-risk patients who test positive for COVID-19."

He said people need to know their options after they test positive for COVID-19. He recommends a fact sheet be distributed to patients at drive-through testing sites.

COVID-19 is the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus.

I heard the treatment's cost is $2,100 per infusion, so if the governor is making that available for free then a strong bravo to him.

You should be asking why NJ isn't doing the same. The treatment doses were purchased by the feds and are distributed freely to the states. If your Governor doesn't have a plan, he is trying to kill you for cheap political points.

Monoclonal antibody treatments can be prescribed by health care providers to individuals 12 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and are at high risk for severe illness and hospitalization. However, at Governor DeSantis' direction, there is currently a standing order in Florida signed by the State Surgeon General that allows patients to receive this treatment without a prescription or referral if administered by an eligible health care provider. Such referrals are not required at any of the State of Florida monoclonal antibody treatment sites and treatments are available at no cost to patients.

The antibodies help the immune system recognize and respond effectively to the virus. According to the treatment guidelines, they should be administered as soon as possible after diagnosis. By providing access to these treatments at these new sites, Governor DeSantis is alleviating demand on hospital resources and further making sure that Floridians have access to all potential treatments that can help them recover from COVID-19.

Unfortunately this has received minuscule press coverage here, they are still on the hospital overcrowded/understaffed theme and making a big push for pregnant women to get the serum, also the daily "death of the day" headline, usually someone prominent who wasn't vaxxed.
