Grand Funk was my favorite group at one time. Saw them live in Atlanta stadium in 1971 when i was 15 years old. Backup group was Black Oak Arkansas.

Meh, they should not use songs that were offered to idols (this song was not originally created to glorify God)

Didn't the Word say to sing a new song unto the Lord???

Really? You've never changed a few key words and sang a song to God? I've done it a lot, I think I even did this one before the movie came out:

    No.

The Lord does not appreciate things that have been offered to idols to be cleaned up a little and brought to Him as praise or offering of praise.

There is many many Christians musicians of every genre singing new songs unto the Lord... why not sing with them?

Singing secular music to the Lord reminds my of the guy that was stealing money from a business and when he got arrested for it, he told his boss (who was a Christian) he should not be arrested because he paid tiithes to his church on all the money he stole!

The Lord does not appreciate that sort of thing.

MUSIC was God's design...redeeming it back to God is awesome...just like food offered to idols is nothing, so is music..but if it offends your conscience don't listen...being music sensitive I get that..

I have changed 'Christian songs' because the lyrics, IMHO, were not scripturally correct..

God's not hearing secular music, so He is offended when it is offered unto Him as praise. Besides, He told us to sing a NEW Song unto the Lord and secular music violates Philippians 4:8 as it brings forth thoughts and imaginations that are in opposition to God not to mention activating demonic activity.

God never changes...He has never received anything that was first offered to idols as that puts Him secondary... He cannot be secondary to anything or anybody.

There's a lot of things God created that has been twisted and so He does not accept it. Besides secular music, sex is another example of something God rejects unless it is within His original intent.

Many Christian musicians today are heavily influenced by secular music which results in some music being labeled Christian that really isn't as it is created for record sales and not to please the Father's heart.
