My new baby- my retirement guitar!

God has truly blessed me. I have been playing guitar since I was about 12, and have never had a really super nice guitar.

That all changed a couple weeks ago while I was on my winter break. I picked up this Taylor T5Z and I absolutely love it! Thank you Lord!

It has nice acoustic tones to it, but also many others. Not simulated tones like a lot of these type of guitars have. The tones they get out of this guitar all come from the wood, the placement of the pickups and the tone controls.

This week was also our second week of serving with the worship team at our new church, and what a blessing!

It is amazing how God has put this team together. When we started attending here a couple months ago, they were doing worship with canned music, a worship leader, a couple of background singers and an occasional piano player. When we stepped up to help we discovered that there was a drummer and that his wife, who was one of the singers also plays keys. The other sister who occasionally played the piano jumped on board when she heard that we would be having weekly practice sessions, and the pastor's son, who was also one of the background singers, had played horns in school and was interested in learning the bass guitar. I spent a couple of hours with him Friday night, and then we got together as a team to learn songs on Saturday night. He is a quick study for sure! This past two Sundays have been the easiest worship sessions I have ever played. We just all seem to gel. God is building us together for His purposes!

Here is our first worship service, starting right about 30 minutes in.
