Post Proud Mary & Black Panther

I think I'm gonna purchase my ticket for Black Panther early. It looks real exciting! 😁

Ok, we just saw Proud Mary. I don't know why the critics panned this film. IMHO, It was awesome! 👍🏾👍🏾

Even though "Mary" was on the wrong side of the law, the film was full nail-biting suspense, some coarse language, exciting car chases, physical fighting (Mary winning all of them), and of course the usual gun violence. She kicks butt and takes names. 🤩

The 2 things it didn't have was sex or nudity (except a mild, shadowy scene of Mary in the shower) which I appreciate very much! Good films don't need sex/nudity. lol😝

Taraji P. Henson was made for this role she plays a hired killer whose life takes an interesting turn after she meets the son of one of her victims.

It's a touching relationship, and it's dificult to dislike Mary after you learn how she became a hit woman.

Danny Glover plays her "father figure boss" and as usual, he's good in his role as the don of a crime family.

I read that Sony Pictures wouldn't promote the film with the LAME excuse that films with majority black cast don't do well; which we ALL know is a big fat misrepresentation of the truth. SMH

Out of 5 stars, I rate this film 3.9, even though the expletives were mild (except one when the "b" word was used), they prevent me from giving it a higher score...Without the expletives, I'd give it a 4.2 😑☺️

    Cool

"After the death of his father, T'Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king -- and as Black Panther -- gets tested when he's drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people."

Black Panther looks interesting, but Tariji appears to have just "switched sides" from when she starred as Detective Joss Carter on Person of Interest.

Don't go to the theaters, so I'll catch Panther on-demand eventually.

    Thanks for the reviews, VW!

I’ve only seen her in 2 films, the last one was “Hidden Figures”. She’s a good actress and she is fierce in this film. I don’t know much about her role on Person of Interest because I never watched it. The way the film ended, there should be a sequel, but it’s doubtful since Sony wouldn’t even promote it.
