I don't think anyone mistook her for a Greek goddess. Her role in the film is no different than other superheroe's roles, other than she's female. Most mature adults can separate the actress from the real person. It's an added bonus that she was a soldier in real life fighting a worthy cause. It makes watching her on screen as a superhero all the enjoyable.
It is kinda cool to find out that she's not 'just' an actress, but was in the military etc, and it isn't just all acting in performing the role. She's a trained soldier. And she could probably krav maga most mens' butts too.
