The Birth of a Nation-2016
This is definitely NOT D.W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation" (1915).
I'm not sure if Ill see it or not due to the "R" rating. There may be some scenes of a sexual nature I don't care to see. Hopefully someone I know will see it first and can let me know.
The Trailer looks very interesting though. I almost went to see it this evening.

Too many young people trust what they see in movies that are so often depicted inaccurately historically. Not based on anything I know, saw or read I ask, how do you think this will affect the current climate?

What disturbs me is that the actors in the film don't believe Turner was wrong and they, as well as Turner's family, believe there should be a monument erected to honor him! What the??
I understand why he did what he did, but killing innocent women and children is a HUGE deal breaker with me.
So I don't view Turner as some kind of hero, but one who was once great man of God who listened to and gave heed to demonic voices moving him to commit mass murder.
That is the tragedy of his life. He was an anointed preacher of the Gospel, but because of the horrors of Slavery, he became so distraught that Satan was able to get a foothold and destroy him.
I have no idea how this will effect the current climate, and I'm wondering if the release of this film is part of the agenda of the Left to counter the film, "Hillary's America"? Hmmm?
