We finally watched it. Just finished the second season. A lot of crying moments for me. It's really pretty good. I understand some artistic license has to be taken so that doesn't really bug me.

The things that bug me. Peter totally gets on my nerves. lol. The way they stretch everything out. Of course we're used to reading the Bible and every event happens one right after the other. So it seems to take forever to get to the payoff you're looking for because they really develop the scenes. Just things like that. But enjoyed it and looking forward to the 3rd season.

This video is pretty clever in the link that TT posted:

The above video is clever just think the billboards were dumb

People are free to enjoy the series and use it to spread the faith and have no problem with artistic license to a reasonable degree.
IMO they have crossed the line with certain points where they are attempt to be relevant but end up blatantly contradicting scripture.

Part of my frustration is the modern churches infatuation for relevance over substance and now we see mega pastors and churches are being exposed for ungodly standards.
I just don't think God cares as much about relevance as the modern church preaches.

I remember when I was at Rhema back in the day, '79-'80, the book 'Angels On Assignment' by Roland Buck was out. At school we had Roy Hicks come teach who was a good friend of Hagin and at one time was the head of the 4 Square churches. He brought the book up and said he and Hagin had talked about it and their advice basically was, "Read it, enjoy it, forget about it." You could do this that way. It's not meant to be a perfect extrapolation of scripture, etc. They do a lot of things well and I can overlook the other stuff. It's just not that big of a deal to me. I think it accomplishes what it set out to do though, present Jesus and the disciples like 'real' people. Watch it, enjoy it, forget about it. :)

Or as we said, "chew the meat, spit out the bones".

Behind the Scenes of 'The Chosen': That Jesus Wink, Rough Characters & No Hollywood Money

Phil Robertson and Jase interview the creator of the Chosen. They all come across as very genuine Christians. I didn't realize the creator's dad was co author of the Left Behind books.

Watched the first episode of Season 3, and I thought the "Flashback with Jesus and Joseph" was interesting.

And I loved it when Jesus said to the Rabbi: "I AM the law of Moses!" - That was powerful

I think I read or heard somewhere that The Chosen series is produced/created/written/directed by Mormons.

Anyone have any idea if this is true?

    Maybe I dreamed it.

I heard that but read it had been debunked. Haven't read your article yet.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the opening to tonight's episode. These might be the best scenes yet from the whole series.
