I remember the name, but don't recall ever actually eating one.

But a favorite at the movie theaters, which I haven't eaten in about 40 years,

Good question. I like it, but it's certainly not used today to the extent that it was when I was young.

When I need to take notes really quickly, I still use it, but that's about it. I compose long letters on the
computer and write notes within cards using print.

Why Cursive Handwriting Is Good for Your Brain | Psychology Today

accumulating evidence suggests that not learning cursive handwriting may hinder the brain's optimum potential to learn and remember.
I love cursive writing. It's taught as a part of our homeschool hybrid's curriculum. I encourage it with my students as a way of expression and as an artform.
