What sort of of work did your father do?

Unfortunately, I remember not being able to be served or sit at them, when I was around 10 years old -
Growing up in the 50's and 60's, I remember segregation very well. I had no clue what it was about, it just was. I'm sorry.

    I can't imagine.

The only thing I remember of anything like that when I was a kid about 5 was going into a Woolworth or WT GRants or one of those places and there being two water fountains, one labeled 'white' and the other 'colored'. I had no idea at the time what it was even talking about. I just remember not being able to figure it out at the time.

I don't recall seeing any of that firsthand but perhaps it was because I was in the North. I was curious when it ended and I found a couple of interesting stories about Woolworth and their counter policy.

That makes sense in regard to poverty as the early Pentecostals were poor

We were poor and lived eating a poor man's diet and hand me down clothes. But God was faithful and met our needs. Dad and Mom and four kids and we were all saved and baptized in the Holy Ghost!
