    Do it. :)

Then follow up with the intermittent fasting I talked about earlier:

Many combine it with intermittent fasting which is restricting your eating to a shorter period in the day, say 6-8 hours. 8 hours would be a 16/8 window. Fast for 16 and eat all your food in an 8 hour window. I eat in a 4 hour window and OMAD (one meal a day) a lot.

To follow up, when you do keto right, you get into ketosis, hence the name. Your body is in a state of using it's fat for fuel instead of glucose which comes from the carbs. You actually into into a physiological state that is the same as when you outright fast with no food or juices. So you're getting some if not all of the physiological benefits of fasting but you're eating food.

The point I really wanted to make, and I need to get back to this myself, is that once you get into ketosis, it's easy to move from eating keto to total fasting because you're body is already in that 'fasting state'. Back when I was doing this regular I could go into a one, two, or three day just water fast without even hardly thinking about it. Since my body was already in ketosis from eating low carb, the body didn't have to make any trasition to the fasting state because it was already in it. So no carb withdrawals, etc. Maintaining ketosis as a lifestyle makes it real easy to total fast.

I follow one couple on Instagram who are carnivores, meat, eggs, etc only, no vegetables, and she's always talking about fasting anywhere from 24-72 hours just as a natural outflow of being in ketosis already. It's a great lifestyle to get into. Like I said, I need to get back to it myself. Her and her husband lost well over 200 lbs combined starting with keto and going to carnivore (carnivore is keto too because it gets you into ketosis. when people use the word 'keto' though, it normally includes 'good' vegetables. any way of eating that gets you into keto is a keto diet. But 'Keto' with a capital K is a specific kind of keto, high fat low carb. Where carnivore is no carb). He went from around 300 lbs to about 170-180, and she went from well over 200 to about 150 or so. Below are a couple of pics and an interview done with her that was just posted today on Youtube.

I've transitioned from strict keto to low carb/high fat/moderate protein after a successful time on keto (losing 30 pounds.) I do tend to over do on the peanuts in shells, but other than that, I'm pretty moderate in everything. My thinking is that I need to learn to how to keep the weight off, so the plan was keto - normal eating (adding some carbs back) and back to keto. While I was being moderate, I decided I didn't need to go back to keto right away. Although I could probably lose another 20 pounds, I'm comfortable.

I went to the Dr. and got on the scale (with shoes, jeans, etc) and noticed I had lost some more weight. So, when I got back home, I got on my scale (first time since January) and noticed that I had effortlessly lost another 10 pounds! Although excited, I'm not going back to keto quite yet. I'm going to continue doing what I'm doing and try to be more active. I do need to lose more around the middle but I think that will come on it's own. Like I said, I can lose weight when I diet. I'm trying to set up a lifestyle where I don't diet at all, but still can control (normalize) my weight. I really think that keto help me "reset" my metabolism and adding fat helps control my hunger.

What fuego said, keto lessens hunger signals quite dramatically. Carbs are kind of a mess when it comes to your body, you can eat them until you are full but your body is still signaling "eat more". Once you are into keto you can actually forget to eat.

I'm still not wholly convinced though that that is a function of carbs, it may be the junk in processed foods which are mainly carb based.

    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your nutrients,
    your ketosis come,
    your wheats be gone,
from my cupboard as well as my stomach.
Give us this day our daily fats and proteins.
Forgive us our excess carbs as we forgive those who are on low-fat diets.
Lead us not into temptation to scarf down a bunch of Cheez-Its.
For the ketosis, the protein, and the disgusting gluten-free products are yours,
    now and forever. Amino acids.

Another good site. Has lots of good recipes if you're in to that sort of thing. I tend to eat the same thing a lot just to keep it simple and easy.
