Don't know really, I'm not micromanaging the carbs. It didn't have crust, just cheesecake. Anyway I blew through what I thought would be a good goal weight-wise and I'm needing to add a few pounds. People who haven't seen me in awhile say "Don't lose anymore weight!". I really don't want want to lose any more weight, I'm feeling about "right" at this time..
I see where people buy devices that will tell them if they are in ketosis and all manner of other doo-dads and rules. I didn't/don't do that. I wasn't what some would deem "overweight" to begin with, just had that pound a year that stacked up over the past twenty years.

Yeah, I never got my head wrapped around the numbers, I think we all process foods differently so when I see things like 23 grams a day...well no. You could go way more if you run around the block a few times or whatever. I learned a lesson on dieting from a pastor friend of mine. He told me that at one time he attended a mega church that decided under the pastors guidance to go on the "Daniel Diet". A lot of the congregation did it, about 1/3 did just fine, about 1/3 got sick or crazy and another third kinda meandered. When they looked into it further, it had to do with blood type. I don't remember what types were thriving on the vegan diets but I guess it showed me that other factors are at work on an individual level, that there is no "one size fits all" regimen.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made, no clones.

I should try this keto thingy you are talking about. I am about 40-50 pounds heavier than I should be, and don't have the drive and energy to get much done after coming home from work. Where do I get the info on it?
The web is full of info on the keto diet. Some are what I call keto nazis, they demand very exacting numbers (grams of carbs per day), no sugars (including fruit, etc. and then you have all kinds of keto products. The simple story is to just stop carbs to the best of your ability. It's not hard, as the craving for carbs disappears almost immediately.
I'm pretty much keto, no to very low carb intake per day but fruit is never off limits for me although I stick to apples and oranges, mangoes, pineapples, the keto nazis would tell you that those have SUGAR...ah...ok..that's why I like them. Anyway, there is probably no perfect plan for you on the web, you'll just have to get started and listen to your body. If you are gunning for a 40-50 lb. loss, it can happen pretty quickly. I lost 5 a week when I started and leveled out at a 25 lb. loss which is all I am going to do, I don't want to be the "skinny guy".
Oh, your energy levels will go through the roof, which also aids weight loss, all that activity burns off the junk.

Just watch your 'bad' carbs. Mostly starches. Potatoes, rice, pasta, corn, beans, etc. Mostly 'good' vegetables which are low in carbs like collards, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, etc. Or just go carnivore, only meat and eggs, etc. Any kind of meat. Beef, chicken, bacon, etc. Can do cheese also if you want. No veggies at all. Either works.
And I'm not a keto Nazi, but fruit is NOT keto regardless of what John says. It is sugar. Although berries are fine if you don't eat too much of them.
Many combine it with intermittent fasting which is restricting your eating to a shorter period in the day, say 6-8 hours. 8 hours would be a 16/8 window. Fast for 16 and eat all your food in an 8 hour window. I eat in a 4 hour window and OMAD (one meal a day) a lot.

Yep, I cut those completely unless something was incidental like who put beans in the chili!? My veggies are mainly of the snack variety, peanut butter on celery or cauliflower with dip, meals are mostly mea-gan. Lots of nuts for snacking as well. Snacks and sweets were what I was probably over doing, eating chips, doughy stuff like doughnuts so substituting fruit worked for me, I don't feel deprived in any way which I think is why most diets fail but I don't really see this as a diet, just a change in food intake. The issues I have with it are in the OP, a drastic change in energy/sleep patterns and now I'm at the point where I will just maintain, don't want to lose any more. And, I am not going to back to a carb laden diet, I never realized how much that stuff drew down on energy. I can do a cheat now and again and really don't like how the carb coma kicks in.
