    body type quiz

I stumbled across this, and found it very interesting. Granted, I'm not going to buy what he's selling, but it's always interesting to learn something new:

so...this quiz got me to thinking, and I switched doctors, so that I could get a different viewpoint. That said...the new doctor did blood tests that my conventional doctor had not, and figured out why I had been gaining weight and why my heart rate was so high. (my former doctor told me that's just the way it was. ) Apparently my adrenal gland is not producing enough cortisol....my thyroid is on the low side, and my pregnenolone is uber low.

I mean...I'm upset that my body is going whacky, but I'm happy to know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and that with prayer, the right supplements, and looking at my diet from a different perspective I might be able to have more energy, and less weight!!!!

Interesting. I was actually subscribed to this guy and didn't realize it. So there must have been some video I really liked at one time.

I was reading the Metabolic Effect Diet book, and it suggested doing interval training, both with weights, and cardiovascular. My heart rate went up to 171, and stayed there for a bit, so my doctor said no more running until we get the hormones straightened out...just walking for now.

What's wrong with 171? Gotta get that heart rate up there! :)

When I do HIIT mine still gets up into the 160s. I've had it up in the 170s. No big deal

I go up to 185 but my max heart rate is high, probably 195-200. Since Lista is the same age as me I'm thinking that 171 is probably quite normal.

Then you are 15 years older than Lista and according to age group your max heart rate should be 10-15 lower than hers. I think Lista ought to go by perceived effort rather than by heart rate. I'm not particularly out of breath at 175-180 but at 185 I start breathing more heavily.

The problem is that it stays there for a while. Also...it goes up to that rate occasionally just walking up stairs, or a steep hill. Remembering that I ran a 15 k 2 years ago....I've not been slacking in the cardiovascular exercise. A jog should NOT make my heart rate go up that high.

had I been sprinting...I would agree with you. I was just doing a fast jog.
