The kingdom cometh not with observation and it is within. Flesh and blood won't inherit the kingdom. IF a person wants to battle their weight for health purposes, fine, but these bodies do not have eternal life. They will have to put on immortality.
A servant of God needs to remain healthy in order to serve properly and throughout a life of full length. If remaining healthy had been a matter of pushing a button once a year then not failing to do that would be a matter of applying self control. If it takes battling the weight to within reason then that requires more self control. Self control is a fruit of the Spirit and is therefore a matter of crucifying the flesh. This is not a matter of figuring out how to get ones sorry behind into heaven which requires remaining in the faith. It is about how to serve God properly during the short time that we have here, so that someone else may get into heaven and not just me, myself and I.

1 Cor 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
