    The only surgery I ever had was for a deviated septum back in the 70's and I'm not sure what happened but I wound up in recovery for a long time, I kind of remember one of the nurses saying that I gave them quite a scare.

    But then you hear stories of like what happened to my Aunt a couple of years ago, she had some major abdominal surgery and while she couldn't move or say anything, she said felt everything that was done to her.

    If she had that brain monitor on her would have they known she was awake ?

    I was out of it for weeks after gallbladder surgery in 2013.
