Thread: Chronic Sinus infections

Yeah, if it's chronic, it's usually candida/fungus related. The thing about the spray is that it's sooooooooooo strong, it will kill any fungus/bacteria so much better than other stuff. Again, even if you just scroll down and read the first page of reviews, it's almost nothing but people who have been on steroids and taken every other nose spray, done neti pot, etc.....it really is the best I've come across.

But, I hadn't thought about it being candida related.. I've got stuff to take for that.. may take a bit longer, but it's doable.
    thanks for the nudge

It's possible to become dependent on nose spray because the nose may stop functioning without it. Some people end up using them several times every day indefinitely. It's getting more common than you may think.

I agree. My mother was addicted to nose spray. That seems to be more the case with the pharmacuetical stuff, not the natural stuff. But again, if it's "chronic", there's something else going on. The occassional congestion with a cold or something isn't really cause for concern. In the winter months, your nasal passages get dried out and it can happen that you get congested, especially if you don't run a humidifier.

I run a humidifier when it stays below freezing otherwise my nasal passages tend to dry up which may result in a slight headache. The skin may also dry up in places and a moisturizer lotion can be handy. I also take some extra vitamin d when it gets dark during the winter season, it makes me feel better.

That said, the spray is nothing short of a miracle (read the reviews if you dont believe me; I'll even post the first review....this has over 300 reviews): .....
Thanks for this information; I've placed an order for the first item.

I've tried room-size portable humidifiers, but with central forced-air heating, they don't seem to help. In addition, they need to be cleaned frequently.

The ones that ionize water into mist seem to run much cleaner.

Bro tom....there is a great cool mist humidifier with newer technology that doesn't use a filter. We have two of them. They help tremendously. They even started making the smaller units to put on desks at work and whatnot. I didn't use humidifiers for years because of the cleaning/filter/fungus/yuk factor, but the Air Innovations brand uses housed ceramic balls versus filters. So you really don't have to ever worry about replacing the filter. They are fantastic:

If you do a search on Amazon, you can see that there are different sizes, depending upon what you need. There are other brands with the same technology, but I have two Air Innovations units that are cheaper. Even the unit I'm linking to, I paid $25.00 less than what it's listed for now. I've had the larger unit for two years now, and a smaller unit for three. I LOOOOOOOOVE not having to deal with filters.

I run it on warm mist (a bit more effective that way) but it runs quite clean anyway.
