Thread: Chronic Sinus infections

I've done the saltwater/baking soda up the nose.. it temporarily helped.. but I didn't like the side effects.

Pente, I've been in this struggle since right before Christmas.. factor in allergies and it's a wild and crazy party in my nose/throat. One that the police should shut down.

I know various treatments can help the symptoms - like the aforementioned neti-pot. But sinus surgery may be a good option to "talk to the doc" about..

My wife was such a case. she had a 10-year long struggle and finally opted for the sinus surgery. Now some people have scary stories about the dreadful pain and recovery - but we prayed through it and she recovered like 90% the following day: no pain, no swelling, very little bleeding.

Medically, the doctor used the more advanced "balloon" technique, which was less traumatic than other (more painful) methods, as the doctor explained to us.

Mr C used the saline rinse for a time as directed by his ent and it began to irritate his passages. Dd tried the rinse and said it made her worse. I know many swear by it. (if it's not a sin to swear).

I've had this problem, for years, mostly in the winter. Saline sprays, available over-the-counter, have been somewhat helpful.

I've also tried rubbing some mentholatum ointment around (but not inside) my nostrils; it seems to help (but only temporarily).

I too use the otc saline spray. I also will tilt my head back and let some run in and drain out but nothing like using the irrigation.

Nothing works like something I can only find at Amazon. If you have a chronic problem, it's likely due to a chronic candida infection. If you don't deal with that, it'll be an ongoing issue. That said, the spray is nothing short of a miracle (read the reviews if you dont believe me; I'll even post the first review....this has over 300 reviews):

5.0 out of 5 starsBetter than any doctor prescribed steroid spray and antibiotic

After many years of antibiotics and steroid nasal spray use,..my sinus infections became more frequent and got worse,..not to mention the bad gut etc. problems associated with antibiotic use. I stumbled onto a TV show called Know The Cause (knowthecause.com) and learned that sinus infections and MOST other health problems people get are due to fungus in the body and changing the diet to eliminate sugar and grains (carbs) as well as using anti-fungal supplements starve and or kill the fungus and supplementing with pro-biotics and beta glucan is the cure.
One of the anti-fungals talked about on the show is oregano oil of which I also use,..but then I discovered this Sinu Orega nasal spray version and so far can definitely say that it works better than any spray I've ever used. After about a weeks worth of use,..the burning becomes much less severe. After a couple weeks use (once daily) I actually had a small chunk of what I presume to be wax or sinus fungus? come from the back of my throat during a slight cough,..then a week after that a second larger chunk came out. Know the Cause has showed me what no doctor has ever been able to plus have lost 35 pounds weight and sinuses have never been better.

Emulsified oils of wild oregano, bay leaf, sage, and clove in a sea salt base. Sinu-Orega is a natural nasal wash powered by potent spice extracts. These powerful extracts are combined with pure sea salt in a spring water base, the ideal wash and inhalant for the nasal membranes and sinuses. Insert nozzle next to inner nasal membrane and gently squirt. Immediately sniff contents deeply to distribute throughout the sinuses. Repeat with each nostril. For best results sniff deeply. Repeat as needed. Temporary burning, stinging, sneezing, or increased nasal discharge may occur. Non-addictive.
    I would also add: http://www.amazon.com/Source-Natural...llness+formula

All a doctor is going to do is administer antibiotics, which will make any chronic candida infection 100 times worse......

If you read the reviews on the stuff I posted, you'll see people who rave about these two products. I have used them both, and they are both amazing. The sinus stuff burns like crazy and isn't cheap, but imo, is much better than anything else (I've tried them all!), and better than a neti pot, too.

Like I said....I've tried 'em all, and nothing touches this stuff. The North American Spice Co. products are really the best. I can find their liquid extracts at The Vitamin Shoppe, but not the nose spray, unfortunately! That's why I say you can probably only find it on Amazon, but dang, it's fantastic.

Warning: It will burn pretty bad at first.

The Wellness Formula does have a pill form (don't buy the tablets, they are too hard to digest!), but the liquid is amazing and DIRT CHEAP. That bottle is 4 oz and is huge. It was $22.00 ON SALE for that same size bottle at The Vitamin Shoppe when I discovered it. The "regular" price was like $35.00 or something. So for $11, it's amazing. We keep either the liquid or the capsules at our house at all times. It will kick your immune system into high gear and kill whatever ails ya. Amazing stuff.

bummer for me.. it has sage.

But, I hadn't thought about it being candida related.. I've got stuff to take for that.. may take a bit longer, but it's doable.
    thanks for the nudge
