Opps, what can I say? I was out with a tour group and missed this post.

Touring Israel is generally a very good thing for any Bible Believing person. Getting matched up with the right group and the right sort of tour, however, can be challenging. I would absolutely love it if this forum decided to put a tour together. I promise to be available to give professional advice on the itinerary, timing and prices. Here are a few general rules...

The larger the tour group, the less access each participant has to engage with the tour leader and the tour guide. That can work out just fine if the group has common goals and interests or if there is no strong central leader. My personal preference is a group of about 35. My last group was only 4 people though and it was superb. (I had two US Navy chaplains [Baptists] and two lay leaders [Roman Catholics]).

Nothing in Israel is inexpensive. Just plan on it being expensive. Plan a minimum of $10 per lunch per day with at least one lunch being $20+.

Start thinking early about what you want to see/visit. If you want to have a theme, that will play a role in the planning stage. Extra activities can enhance the tour.

Hearing more than one voice for devotionals and teaching will enhance the experience.

    I'll add more later.

Okay, let's start with the bake sales and car washes to raise the money! I think it would be awesome to go as a group.

    I think that I would recommend a non-alcoholic tour.

    God bless!

Fair warning on alcohol... Wine is normally available in the hotels on the evening of the Shabbat. They often have several dozen small bottles and special chalices for the ceremony of Kabalat Shabbat. They also usually have non-alcoholic grape juice for children and those who prefer not to have alcohol but the sweet wine is available.

If you are thinking of a tour of Israel, advance planning can be very helpful. Have you read a bible story and want to see the location? Start making a list of places you want to see. Ever wonder why David just happened to be by a stream where he could find smooth stones for his sling? Just how much walking did Jesus really do? How big is the Sea of Galilee?
I'm sure you understand what I am suggesting. What do you want to see? Have you heard about an experience you want to duplicate?
Use your imagination! Do we need to have a birthday cake somewhere? Does anyone want some of my fresh roasted coffee? Do we want to hike in a couple places? Ride horses or ATVs?

If you have been with a tour, which one? Did you receive a good experience from it? Would you recommend them to some one else?

I can search all day long for a tour, and probably find one. But I would rather have one that is recommended. The church I attend, does not plan to go any time soon.

Your input would be greatly appreciated. :)

I pray that you get a good group Redeemed. I went with Ever-Increasing Faith (apostle Fred and Dr. Betty Price) back in '08. It was the best! Ill never forget it!

Billye Brim has awesome tours, and they'll be touring there in May this year. She goes often, so I would recommend her tour. You can call the ministry to find out if she'll be doing a tour next year that fits your time frame. Office: 417-336-4877...Toll free...800-972-3447

I've heard that Marilyn Hickey has wonderful tours. She may have a tour planned for Spring next year. They're touring New Zealand & Fiji next week. Next year this time may be Israel.

    Cool

Redeemed here are a few photos of my trip to Israel. As you can see, I had a wonderful time.

Me "walking on water" in the first photo.

The 2nd, exiting the Empty Tomb. It was a heart felt, very special experience.

    And finally, a camel ride.

I really hope you get to go. You'll never be the same.
