    Christmas IDEAS

Good morning hobbyist..I may post this on Fellowship forum as well..

We decorate our department for Christmas each year but out boss came up with a neat idea..creating 'decorations' that would double as gifts for maybe the homeless or children at the children's hospital...

I think it is an awesome idea but has really been taxing my brain for ideas beyond they traditional hanging and stuffing stockings...although that could be integrated in...like the 12 days of Christmas bring a stuffing each day...

    Any ideas?

    Me too...
One idea and totally not creative or original ( is to hang Christmas decorated Zip Loc bags on a large tree and then just ask people to fill a bag..

Use pretty blankets instead of 'snow' or tree skirt

    Make a SOCK wreath....

Form a canned goods TREE in a corner with lights behind it..(saw that online)

Brains tired...have to hope for some creative ideas from others..HELP! I know we have some creative people on this forum...

Jesus said when we do unto the least of these His brethren, we do unto Him.

So, if we are going to celebrate Jesus (which we should be doing year round anyhow), shouldn't we all be planning on helping those less fortunate than we are instead of buying presents for people who are not down and out?

Just thinkin out loud... well, er on the board.

As far as friends and family... they say it's the thought that counts, so I'll think about 'em for a bit and hope it was good for them.

Meanwhile, it is true that some people who don't know the Lord open up a bit more during Thanksgiving and Christmas so we should plan on blessing others, especially those that are down and out and take the opportunity to let them know Jesus is real and He's really the only One that truly loves them... and He's mo than enuff, sho'nuff!

You could get action figures barbie dolls animal toys etc and set them up as manger scenes using lincoln logs. Make a wreath of hot wheels. Use hair bows and barettes to decorate trees..

Someone suggested taking new pairs of socks in various colors and rolling them up and pinning them on a wreath or inserting wire through the roll and attaching them...

She also suggested taking toboggans and glove sets and attaching the gloves to the hat to form antlers and gently attaching eyes, ect to look like reindeer...

    This is fun!

Oh, one more that would be neat is to take those 'rolled' blankets that are tied with a bow and arrange them in a pinwheel pattern around the base of the tree to form a 'skirt'.

Yes, in my research there were ideas about creating zip lock bags of needful items like a pair of socks and some tooth past and tooth brush and a snack bar and keep them in the car for those moments when you see a homeless person on the side of the road....
