Thread: Metal Detecting

Meanwhile, in the midst of vicious blizzard Elliott...

So I saw our mail lady standing in the deep snow next door. Turns out she comes over and needs a shovel to find her scanner she lost. It will cost her 1500$. I hurried to put my warm boots on, grabbed my metal detector and promised to find it. After some preliminary questions on where it might be, I set out toning. I told her it would be the highest tone (gold and lead) for the computer components in it. In the deep snow where she was trudging she was bumping her mailbag. Out the scanner flew and went into the fresh foot of snow. I heard the loud high tone and gave the snow a swipe, saw blue plastic and grinned. Thank you Jesus.

Went for another toning of my yard. The home was reportedly built in 1910 though a trip to the Deeds office will confirm it. Anyways, I have found interesting items but no old coins. Today I went over another area and the mid-tone sounded off and the values number screamed "penny". Indian head penny was totally on my mind and the digging did not disappoint. Nice little 1891!
