Thread: Quilting anyone?

  1. #11
My wife is a big-time quilter. She also does long-arm quilting for other quilters.

Oh, if only you and your wife lived close by. I would certainly use her to quilt my quilts. One day, I hope to buy a long arm quilter. When God allows for that, they are quite pricey. Which machine does she use to do that quilting?

I had to ask her. She's says it's APQS...whatever that is. She has customers who mail their quilts to her. Don't you live in California? She has customers that send their quilts from Auburn. She's pretty fast, too.

I know what that is. It's a great machine and one of the ones I have looked at. And yes I live in California. You guys are in Oregon? Guess I better send her a message on FB. I think we are friends on that. Thank you Bookman!

Here is my work in progress on the Coin Quilt. It is just in blocks now, but I am almost done doing the blocks. I just love this fabric and how quickly it's coming together.

I really like your color choices here. Why is it called a Coin Quilt?

I always thought the name Coin Quilt came from using pieces of fabric that are small. I could be wrong. The ones I have seen were scrap quilts in multi colors. The pieces are always cut in rectangles.

I too like the colors you used.

I have no idea why it's called that. But Curly Sue could be right. I would have to research it. I do love purple too. It should be done by next weekend, I hope. At least the top and then I can purchase the backing fabric. One step closer to being complete.
