Got my open water scuba diving certification this week in Key Largo...
...knowledge tests on Monday; pool work and 1st 2 open water dives on Tuesday; open water dives 3 and 4 on Wednesday. I are now a certified scuba diver.
The girl, Ally, my instructor, graduated from Tampa Bay University in January with a degree in marine biology and moved to Key Largo to instruct then. Been scuba diving for 10 years and been an instructor since January. I have 2 more videos but for some reason they aren't uploading to Photobucket. I'll upload them as soon as i get it figured out. And yes, there is a shark in one of them too.

Yeah, been interested in it since I was a kid. I used to read non-fiction like Jacque Cousteau's The Silent World, and read fiction books that incorporated scuba diving into the story. Yes, there is a genre of that out there.
I actually went through certification back in about '83 or so but had to move back to GA from FL before I got my card and never had any proof. So I decided to get it on coral reefs that I have always wanted to see but never have. One thing I will say is doing 4 months of Crossfit before I went really helped. It is more strenuous than I thought.

I've always enjoyed underwater shows, I think it started with the Diver Dan show when I was a kid.
I liked to watch Jacque Cousteau too and even saw the Calypso going up the Detroit River on its way to explore the Edmund Fitzgerald wreckage in Lake Superior back in the early 80s.

I got certified 3 years ago, but then found out I was pregnant, so I haven't been able to go since. SO looking forward to getting back out there. I'm like you Fuego, I've ALWAYS had a fascination with the water.

I just watched the videos...soooooo neat! I would have freaked over the shark though.
