This is the computerized test station (LCSS) that I operated, MOS 27B.
This guy was in my section. I remember him. Don't remember the reporter coming around, but I worked midnight shift quite often.

This was Merrell Barracks from that time period. Our 3 test vans and their 3 support vans were located about where you see that flag pole on the inside. The building which stands by itself behind the flagpole was a bowling alley upstairs, and our missile shop was downstairs. And from there, you could sneak in and explore some of the underground passages which led to underground SS motor pools and ranges. After going down a couple of levels you would run into water. They flooded it to keep folks out I guess.

The bullet holes you see in the walls were from Audie Murphy's Unit. I have his autobiography with pics in it too.

Here is the PX and Commissary in Furth, and the BA Hotel that I lived in when I first arrived in Country.

    You should remember them.

Maybe a moderator type person could split this and move our military posts over to a thread called Military Memories or something like that?

I was there one time, can't remember what for, slept since then. But yes I was in awe when I seen that gate. We had an ammo pad at a place in Fueth, one time we had to do guard duty on it for 2 weeks. It was 6 on 6 off, doing the "Moon Walk" outside the fence going around the area for 6 hours. Man, that was a trip. Sorry I read right over the one post you had about Nirenberg. Back on track now. Lol

Don't know if you ever visited this place. But I sure did "Every Man's Battle" book I read. Led me to a lot of repentance for what I did in that area. The Wall was what we called it, I couldn't go around the bend and take a pic, I didn't want to risk it, I was to short when I took this snap shot.

I shopped there, think that's the place I bought a nice stereo set up at. Some of the other pic's look familiar. Fueth, think I had to take a tolly car there. Cab's sure cost money. And if you had trouble in a bar or what have you and the German Police were looking for you. (Polizi, can't spell it, but you know what I'm saying) They would take you right to the station and tell you how much you owed them, You paid and got out of the car and they put the cuffs on you and the game's began.
