This is the computerized test station (LCSS) that I operated, MOS 27B.
This guy was in my section. I remember him. Don't remember the reporter coming around, but I worked midnight shift quite often.
This was Merrell Barracks from that time period. Our 3 test vans and their 3 support vans were located about where you see that flag pole on the inside. The building which stands by itself behind the flagpole was a bowling alley upstairs, and our missile shop was downstairs. And from there, you could sneak in and explore some of the underground passages which led to underground SS motor pools and ranges. After going down a couple of levels you would run into water. They flooded it to keep folks out I guess.
The bullet holes you see in the walls were from Audie Murphy's Unit. I have his autobiography with pics in it too.
