I'm thinking about this more.

Anyway, just some rambling thoughts about Catchy and eternity. Not necessarily going anywhere with it per se.
It's not just that actors portray fiction as if it were real, they often do it in such a way that it seems that the character involved is finding a fulfillment from it or burning with a fire inside that doesn't come from doing what the character is doing, in real life. The acts may range from nonsensical to cultic to simply sinful. This apply to other types of stars too including in music and sports. The latter don't necessarily talk that much but they promote something between the lines and it can be a mix between fiction and lifestyles, mindsets or just sinful behavior. People are left with the impression that sinful lifestyles or acts will fulfill and will cause one to burn with a fulfilling fire and even when they can't seem to make that work then at least their hero celebrity is able to and may become the patron saint of their own lifestyle or behavior.

Charles Finney said something along the lines that if Christians would live as if what they believed about heaven, hell, and eternity were true, the world would be won in short order.

If they pursued God accordingly then lived the corresponding life in the fire of the Holy Spirit then that would happen. There are plenty of people with fairly wholesome doctrine that are zealous for God but according to own works or power or even with a fire that is not of God and their impact on their surroundings may range from little to zero to outright negative. Paul was happy that contentious people were preaching the gospel because then at least people would hear what they had never heard before but in the Western world it's more likely that they would end up reinforcing or adding to an already negative impression.

I believe that judge was partly right...but not totally. The fact is there are many who love to FEEL the emotions of the characters while remaining unchanged...The message of the gospel compels CHANGE...

We can rejoice with the hero, we can grieve with the loss, we can laugh at the humor....feel motivated, or as the ladies will do from time to time, watch a sad movie to cry...and we can watch history or documentaries or DIY to gain information we want to use...and then return to our life...

Me too, Bro. - For some reason, the last couple of months, I've been thinking about eternity too, and how I'm really feeling "homesick."

Every time I listen to the song "Home" by Chris Tomlin, I almost weep, and my heart aches to be with my beloved Jesus.

That's two people saved and another one baptized in the Spirit in Krakow in four hours. The latter two after figuring out that we aren't mormon missionaries or similar. Too much to do before eternity, thank you very much.

Maybe you will live to be a hundred ? Age is just a number until you close in on adding another figure.

Someone's Christian mother is very happy with her child's decision to take up the faith yesterday. The fire is spreading too, the mother figured out what it was that motioned her child in the right direction.

The two days old Christian says something to me today then the power of God hits me. She is imitating me, I'm quite sure that she hasn't read 1 cor 12 and I haven't explained that to her. So am I sure that that was not my imagination ? Yes, and the reason why is that that power is still burning tangibly around me half an hour later, as I type this. Does it do something useful ? Yes. So what does this tell me ? It tells me that a whole lot is possible, God can do a lot in a short while. Maturity takes longer of course. Reminds me of when Søndergaard sends new Christians out on the street to pray for people, he has a lot of faith in them even though they haven't been to 100 conferences yet.

70 is ancient. I am waiting for a wave of revival to sweep through the churches that will hold to a theology that if you have the faith you will turn young again. It will be very popular with the Wof crowd!
